Make "Ordinary Kyoto" into "Special Today"
"Nishijin", where time goes by slowly and history and culture deeply remain.
Here, you’ll find the everyday life of Kyoto —
local shops in operation, traces of history still woven into the streets, and old buildings quietly standing the test of time.
Narrow alleys you might otherwise never wander into.
A calmness and clarity absent from the busy downtown areas.
A Kyoto where you can feel the rhythm of daily life and the presence of the people who live here.
Of course, the city’s famous landmarks are within reach, but we also invite you to look beyond Kyoto’s well-known grid of streets, and sometimes even beyond the city itself, toward the landscapes that stretch all the way to the Sea of Japan.
KéFU was created to turn Kyoto’s “ordinary” into someone’s special encounter.
We offer fresh experiences alongside simple yet refined spaces designed to ease the fatigue of travel.
Our rooms range from singles and doubles to twin and family rooms, suitable for solo travelers, couples, groups, and families alike. Carefully furnished with pieces by STANDARD TRADE. and equipped with Simmons mattresses, each room is designed for comfort and rest.
Amenities by the organic cosmetics brand OSAJI invite you to unwind after a day of exploring, surrounded by gentle botanical fragrances as you prepare for tomorrow’s journey.
A crossroads where people and culture meet
As you step through the entrance on the first floor, you’ll be greeted by a large map of Nishijin painted across the lounge wall — our tool for discovering the quieter, everyday side of Kyoto.
Enjoy locally inspired sweets, light meals, and coffee while planning your travels or simply spending time at ease.
There is information and inspiration here that can only be found at KéFU.
Meals inspired by Nishijin
Kyoto’s food culture has been shaped by centuries of history and the richness of the changing seasons.
Our most popular breakfast, the “KéFU Morning Set,” is filled with carefully selected ingredients from Nishijin and the surrounding area. In addition to traditional Japanese-style meals, we also offer hamburger, curry, and other casual dishes.
Enjoy the experience of staying
Throughout the lounge and shared spaces, you’ll find books carefully selected by local Kyoto bookstores, along with a variety of board games to enjoy alone or with family and friends.
At the shared kitchen’s “Drip Station,” guests can enjoy authentic hand-drip coffee prepared by themselves. We encourage you to compare coffees roasted locally in Nishijin and discover your favorite blend.
