A whole-house rental of a traditional Japanese home in Kakunodate, Akita, where you can "apprentice with an artisan."
— Notice —
We celebrated our grand opening in March 2026!
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who supported our crowdfunding campaign. https://www.makuake.com/project/sanrakuso/
Your support has been a tremendous source of encouragement for us.
We are eagerly looking forward to welcoming you to our inn.
—
This building was originally the private residence of the president of a company that produced Kabazaiku (cherry bark woodwork), one of Akita's proudest traditional crafts.
After the president passed away, the house was left vacant until Yumeijin Co., Ltd. took it over and renovated it into an exclusive, whole-house rental accommodation themed around "artisans."
Kakunodate, a premier tourist destination in the Tohoku region, is often referred to as the "Little Kyoto of Michinoku."
Along with Kakunodate's samurai history, traditional craftsmanship has been continuously passed down through generations in Japan.
We operate our inn at the intersection of this culture and technique. If you want to experience a piece of that heritage, this is the perfect accommodation for you.
The purposes of travel are wonderfully diverse.
Some seek new inspiration, some look for healing,
some want to create memories with loved ones, and others come to sow the seeds of business.
Stay and Discover
We want to color your stay in Akita with little surprises and discoveries.
Experiences that introduce you to a world you have yet to know.
Experiences that make your heart leap with unexpected encounters.
We are designing various plans to make these experiences possible:
👆 Kabazaiku coaster making experience
👆 Iaido (traditional swordsmanship) experience
👆 Sake brewery tour and pairing
We are curating programs that allow you to experience various traditions and artisanal skills.
Of course, participating in these experiences is not mandatory.
You are more than welcome to simply take your time, relax at the inn, and spend your days freely.
Two types of weeping cherry trees in the spring, moss-covered rocks in the summer, vibrant foliage in the autumn, and snow blanketing the garden in the winter. Spending a leisurely time on the engawa (traditional veranda) is a truly luxurious moment.
Monopolize the beautiful view of Kakunodate from the 2nd-floor engawa.
1st-floor guest room: Originally an audio room. Accommodates up to 4 people.
2nd-floor Japanese-style room: Accommodates up to 6 people.
Special experiences made possible because we are exclusive to one group at a time.
A relaxing, uninterrupted time where you don't have to worry about anyone else.
Perhaps you might even discover a new way to enjoy Akita that we don't even know about yet!?
If that happens, please be sure to secretly share it with us later ♪
